Where does your organisation stand on sustainability – and what's needed to move forward?

In our 2025 global sustainability survey, 83% said sustainability offers a competitive edge, yet only 25% reported mature programmes, citing cost, investment barriers, and regulatory uncertainty as barriers.

What will 2026 reveal? Your input shapes this global perspective. By sharing your views, you help identify ambitions, priorities, and challenges – and what's needed to turn ambition into action.

The BDO Sustainability Impact Scan explores three areas (click the plus icon for a definition of each section):

Sustainability Maturity

This concept describes the extent to which sustainability is structurally embedded within the organisation. It encompasses the degree to which sustainability policies, processes and objectives are integrated into corporate strategy and decision-making. This includes formal responsibilities, established policies and procedures, and the way sustainability risks and opportunities are systematically identified and managed.

Note: In this section, questions are asked twice: once about the current situation and once about the desired future situation.

Sustainability Priorities

This refers to the specific sustainability topics that are central to your organisation. These may range from environmental topics such as emissions reduction and efficient use of resources, to social and governance aspects such as diversity, labour rights and ethical business practices. The priorities guide the organisation's focus and investments in sustainability.

Implementation Capacity

This concept indicates the extent to which your organisation has the necessary resources, knowledge and commitment to actually achieve sustainability goals. It includes both the competencies and motivation of employees, as well as the availability of management support, financial resources and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Implementation capacity largely determines the success of sustainability initiatives within the organisation.

The questionnaire takes about 15 minutes, mostly multiple-choice. All responses are confidential and used to better understand organisational challenges and opportunities.
